We test everything on ourselves
Everything we offer has been through our own hands, in production first: if it does not hold up here, it does not ship.
GOG Lab was born as the digital arm of Gabbio Group. We did not start from a business plan: we started from concrete problems — a document that kept getting lost, a weighbridge read by hand, a quarry to survey, four sites to connect. We built the tools that were missing, used them every day, and at some point realised they could be useful to other companies too.
Everything we offer has been through our own hands, in production first: if it does not hold up here, it does not ship.
No jargon. We explain what we are doing in plain words, and we also tell you when something is not worth doing.
Delivery is half the job. The other half is keeping the system standing while the work changes.
A management system connected to the weighbridge, delivery notes filled in automatically, quarry surveys flown with a drone, cameras that warn only when it matters, a switchboard that answers at night too, four sites securely connected to each other. All of it running, every day, for years.
The next step was putting those tools into people's pockets. That is where our apps came from — written once and published on both Android and iPhone — and the first one aimed at the general public, Pronto Esame.
The latest addition to the workshop is 3D printing. It also came from a need of our own — a spare part nobody sold any more, a bracket that did not exist — and became a service: prototypes, custom parts, discontinued spares and branded objects. See the Services page.
We put what we have learned at your disposal: apps, custom business software, automation, infrastructure and 3D printing. With one advantage that is not small — we know what it means to run a company, because we run one too.
A tool nobody uses is a failed tool. First it has to be clear, then it can be beautiful.
Your servers or ours, in Italy. Exportable, readable, with no strings attached.
They are not an add-on module: they are part of the project from the start.
If a request makes no sense or costs more than it returns, we say so. Even when it would mean more work for us.
Ten minutes of conversation are enough to find out. Then we tell you frankly what we would do — and what we would not.
